Visceral adiposity index is associated with increased urinary albumin excretion: A population-based study
Clinical Nutrition Jun 06, 2018
Sun K, et al. - A population-based study was performed to examine the possible association between visceral adiposity and albuminuria. Study participants were nine thousand, four hundred seventy-three subjects aged 40 years or older. It was observed in the findings that the prevalence rate of increased urinary albumin excretion was 6.6% in this population and gradually increased across visceral adiposity index (VAI) quartiles. In middle-aged and elderly Chinese, visceral fat accumulation evaluating by VAI was independently associated with increased urinary albumin excretion.
