Jones JP, et al. - Researchers assessed the arrhythmia risk and management strategies for pediatric ventricular fibromas, which are the second most common type of cardiac tumor in children. They examined cases from via a detailed database search in two hospitals. A high proclivity was seen in ventricular fibromas to cause malignant arrhythmias, and without proper management, they carried a high mortality rate. The patients who underwent surgical resection exhibited good outcomes, regardless of size, and were symptom free in the longer term. Surgical resection was considered the best therapeutic option.
