Vascular endothelium dysfunction: A conservative target in metabolic disorders
Inflammation Research Feb 07, 2018
Jamwal S, et al. - The role of vascular endothelium in metabolic disorders was investigated herein. Vascular endothelium dysfunction was apparent in diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hyperhomocysteinemia, hypercholesterolemia hypertension and hyperuricemia. This was ascribed to the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying these diseases resulting in an imbalance of phosphorylation and dephosphorylation status of lipid and protein kinase that led to modulation of vascular endothelial L-arginine/nitric oxide synthetase (eNOS), thereby ultimately causing vascular endothelium dysfunction.
