Variation in dialysis exposure prior to nonpreemptive living donor kidney transplantation in the United States and its association with allograft outcomes

American Journal of Kidney Diseases Feb 13, 2018

Gill JS, et al. - In this retrospective cohort study, researchers looked at the influence of dialysis exposure before nonpreemptive living donor kidney transplantation on allograft outcomes. In nonpreemptive living donor kidney transplantation, longer pretransplantation dialysis exposure was found to be related to increased risk for allograft failure. Furthermore, an association was observed between pretransplantation dialysis exposure and recipients’ sociodemographic and transplantation centers’ characteristics.
