Valvular imaging in the era of feature-tracking: A slice-following cardiac MR sequence to measure mitral flow
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Nov 04, 2019
Seemann F, Heiberg E, Carlsson M, et al. - In this prospective study, researchers implemented such a sequence, authenticated its slice-following functionality in a phantom and healthy persons, and test its feasibility in individuals with mitral valve dysfunction. Accurate slice displacements were validated by phantom experiments. Slice-following was feasible in all cases, giving physiologically accurate mitral flow patterns. Slice-following exceeded the conventional sequence and enhanced the exactitude of transmitral flow, which is significant for evaluation of diastolic function and mitral regurgitation.
