Values and preferences of women living with HIV who are pregnant, postpartum or considering pregnancy on choice of antiretroviral therapy during pregnancy
BMJ Open Sep 18, 2017
Lytvyn L, et al. - This trial executed an inquiry of womenÂs values and preferences about antiretroviral therapy (ART) during pregnancy to inform a BMJ Rapid Recommendation. It was noted that women who were or could become pregnant and those considering ART possibly placed a high value on both their own and their childrenÂs health. Evidence with regard to the relative significance of these values when choosing between ART regimens was uncertain. Variability existed in individual values and preferences among women. This finding undercored the importance of an individualized women-centred approach, such as shared decision-making while opting between ART alternatives.
