Value of time-intensity curve analysis of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the differential diagnosis of thyroid nodules
European Journal of Radiology May 17, 2018
Gu F, et al. - Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) images of ninety-eight patients with one hundred three thyroid nodules were retrospectively analyzed to evaluate the feasibility of time-intensity curve (TIC) analysis of CEUS in demonstrating features of benign and malignant thyroid nodules. They confirmed the final diagnosis by histology after surgical excision, or cytology after fine needle aspiration (FNA). The results obtained from the study indicate that TIC of CEUS was a very promising and valuable technique for differentiating benign and malignant thyroid nodules.
