Value of gastrografin in adhesive small bowel obstruction
Langenbeck's Archives of Surgery Aug 19, 2017
Weiss A, et al. – This study introduces a water soluble contrast agents (WSCA) protocol to improve outcomes and streamline patient care in adhesive small bowel obstruction. A standardized small bowel obstruction (SBO) protocol using WSCA seemed significantly decreasing time to operation and hospital length of stay (LOS). This approach improved utilization of resources and could improve outcomes. Authors recommend further study to investigate the positive effects of WSCA protocol for patients with SBO.
