Value of biomarkers for predicting immunoglobulin A vasculitis nephritis outcome in an adult prospective cohort
Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation Nov 22, 2017
Berthelot L, et al. - This current investigation was carried out to evaluate the biomarkers of nephritis outcomes in immunoglobulin A vasculitis (IgAV) patients. Findings demonstrated that in IgAV patients, serum galactose-deficient IgA1 (Gd-IgA1) and urinary IgA, IgG, IgM, neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IgAÂIgG and IgAÂsCD89 complexes were associated with nephritis. Furthermore, it was noted that urinary IgA level may improve patient risk stratification for poor outcome.
