Valproic acid increases NF-κB transcriptional activation despite decreasing DNA binding ability in P19 cells, which may play a role in VPA-initiated teratogenesis

Reproductive Toxicology Sep 19, 2017

Lamparter CL, et al. - The purpose of this study is to assess p65 mRNA and protein expression in P19 cells and aim to ascertain the effect on DNA binding ability and activity. These outcomes show that VPA increases NF-κB transcriptional activity despite reducing DNA binding, which may play a role in VPA-initiated teratogenesis.
