Validation of the Seattle Angina Questionnaire in women with ischemic heart disease
American Heart Journal Apr 29, 2018
Patel KK, et al. - The validity of the Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ) in women with ischemic heart disease (IHD) has been questioned, researchers assessed the construct validity, test–retest reliability, responsiveness to clinical change, and predictive validity of the SAQ summary score and its 5 subdomains (physical limitation, anginal stability, angina frequency, treatment satisfaction, and quality of life) separately in men and women. They used data from 8,892 men and 4,013 women across two multicenter trials and five registries. In men and women with CAD, similar psychometric properties of SAQ were shown, supporting that the SAQ is a valid tool to be used in the evaluation of women with IHD.
