Validation of the expanded versions of the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS) v1.1 Symptom Checklist and the Adult ADHD Investigator Symptom Rating Scale (AISRS)
Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Nov 05, 2017
Silverstein MJ, et al. - The researchers investigated the validity of the Adult ADHD Investigator Symptom Rating Scale (AISRS) and the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS) v1.1 Symptom Checklist expanded versions, specifically the executive function (EF) and emotional control (EC) items of both scales using DSM-5 diagnosed adult patients with ADHD and control subjects from an ADHD clinic and a primary care physician (PCP) practice. Furthermore, they aimed to present pilot normative data on the AISRS. High validity was observed with the ASRS and AISRS expanded versions in their assessment of 18 core DSM-5 adult ADHD symptoms, EF, and EC symptoms. Pilot data proposed that patients with an AISRS total score ranging from 23-26 had a high likelihood of adult ADHD.
