Validation of abnormal glucose metabolism associated with Parkinson’s disease in Chinese participants based on 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography imaging
Neuropsychiatric Disease and Treatment Aug 13, 2018
Jin R, et al. - Using 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) imaging across independent cohorts in the Chinese population, researchers conducted this dual-center study to analyze the data reproducibility and robustness of the metabolic activity characteristics linked to Parkinson’s disease (PD). For this investigation, 48 patients with PD and 48 healthy controls from Chongqing district, as well as 33 patients with PD and 33 healthy controls from Shanghai district were enrolled. The data presented in this work showed the high comparability and reproducibility of PD-related cerebral metabolic activity patterns across independent Chinese cohorts and might serve as an objective diagnostic marker for the disease.
