Faridi KF, et al. - Researchers here evaluated national outcomes following approval of MitraClip device for percutaneous mitral valve repair in routine clinical practice. In the United States, use of percutaneous mitral valve repair early after approval increased steadily over time, though individual hospital volumes remained low. More than one in seven patients undergoing this procedure were readmitted within 30 days of discharge.
