Utility of screening questionnaire and polysomnography to predict postoperative outcomes in children
International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Sep 19, 2017
Kako H, et al. - The utility of the screening questionnaire was analyzed in predicting postoperative outcomes in children. In the evaluation, both obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) diagnosis based on the AHI and the questionnaire scale showed comparable predictive value for the need for oxygen use in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). Thus, the utility of the questionnaire in predicting rare adverse events remains to be determined. However, findings of this study supported the use of questionnaire scale for determining preoperative risk stratification among children with suspected OSA.
