Utility of magnetic resonance elastography for predicting ascites in patients with chronic liver disease
Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Aug 28, 2017
Abe K, et al. – The intent behind this research, was to assess the utility of magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) as a non–invasive method for predicting ascites in patients with chronic liver disease (CLD). In predicting the presence of ascites, MRE had higher diagnostic performance compared with serum fibrosis markers. In CLD patients, MRE–based liver stiffness (LS) had the potential to predict the presence of ascites.
