European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology Oct 25, 2020
Lional KM, et al. - This single center retrospective cohort study was undertaken to determine if expectant management confers any benefit on operative morbidity for the management of placenta accrete spectrum (PAS) disorders. This investigation was carried out at a tertiary referral center In Singapore. Between January 2006 and December 2017, women with PAS disorder were identified from the hospital register. Participants in the study were 90 women with PAS. Data reported that the incidence of PAS was 0.064%. The main surgical approach for PAS was traditionally caesarean hysterectomy. The study consolidates existing evidence that expectant management is a choice for a select group of patients to prevent hysterectomy-related complications and allow uterine preservation.
