Using sweat to measure cytokines in older adults compared to younger adults: A pilot study
Journal of Immunological Methods Nov 17, 2017
Hladek M, et al. - Researchers undertook this study to determine whether using sweat to measure cytokines in older adults is feasible, as compared to younger adults. Findings demonstrated the feasibility of sweat patches to collect cytokine data from older adults. In agreement with the current literature, initial group differences in cytokine measurement between older and younger groups revealed that cytokines increase with age, indicating that impact of inflammation on aging can be explored via measuring sweat using the sweat patch.
