Usefulness of urinary collagen IV excretion for predicting the severity of Henoch-Schönlein nephropathy children
Central European Journal of Immunology Aug 26, 2017
Mizerska–Wasiak M, et al. – Analysts appraised the usefulness of urinary collagen IV (Col IV) excretion for predicting the severity of autoimmune renal inflammation in children with HSN (Henoch–Schönlein nephritis). In these patients, urinary Col IV excretion appeared to be related to the lesions severity by the Oxford classification. However, findings suggested its possible association with the mean value (the MEST score). They noticed a more aggressive disease course in younger children. Based on these outcomes, earlier and more aggressive treatment was suggested.
