Usefulness of thoraco-abdominal computed tomography angiography in coronary artery bypass patients
European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Jul 02, 2018
Na KJ, et al. - Among patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), the prevalence of incidental findings (IF) from preoperative thoraco-abdominal multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) angiography was assessed; the clinical significance of IF was evaluated; and predisposing factors for IF were determined. Findings revealed a high prevalence of IFs which were significant in approximately half of the patients and had additional usefulness in one-third of the patients who underwent CABG. Thereby highlighting the significance of performing thoraco-abdominal MDCT angiography for preoperative evaluation, especially in elderly patients and those who have chronic renal failure or left ventricular dysfunction.
