European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Oct 22, 2017
Zeriouh M, et al. - In this study, the impact of intraoperative taurolidine lavage on bacterial colonization and long-term outcomes following lung transplantation in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients were assessed. Researchers recognized that taurolidine could be associated with a reduced proportion of CF patients colonized with multiresistant pathogens, particularly with P. aeruginosa. They recommended further assessment of the long-term results in larger multicentre trials.
