Use of lung ultrasonography to determine the accuracy of clinically estimated dry weight in chronic hemodialysis patients
International Urology and Nephrology Oct 07, 2017
Jiang C, et al. - Lung ultrasound (LUS) was assessed for utility in determining the accuracy of prescribed dry weight (DW) as well as the adequacy of fluid removal in chronic hemodialysis (HD) patients. Findings supported the presumption that reduction in B-lines during HD can afford accurate information regarding alterations in pulmonary fluid content. Notably, data indicated that LUS displayed utility as a diagnostic tool by allowing detection of the adequacy of fluid removal as well as the occurrence of error in the estimation of dry weight by usual clinical parameters.
