JAMA Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Feb 16, 2021
Quinn AJ, Ryan EJ, Garry S, et al. - Researchers here examined if higher cure rates in minimally invasive parathyroidectomy for primary hyperparathyroidism are achieved in correlation with using intraoperative parathyroid hormone. They conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of 12 studies involving 2,290 patients with primary hyperparathyroidism. Outcomes support using intraoperative parathyroid hormone in minimally invasive parathyroidectomy for achieving increased rates of cure and reduced need for reoperation.
