Yawn BP, et al. - Researchers planned this study to assess patient and practice outcomes after introducing the Asthma APGAR (Activities, Persistent, triGGers, Asthma medications, Response to therapy) tools into primary care practices. They noted improvement in rates of asthma control with the introduction of the Asthma APGAR tools. The tools introduction, in addition, reduced asthma-related Emergency Department, urgent care, and hospital visits and increased practices’ adherence to asthma management guidelines.
