Use of antipsychotics in children and adolescents: A picture from the Aritmo population-based European cohort study
Archives of Diseases in Childhood Sep 25, 2017
Kaguelidou H, et al. - The target of this research was to elucidate the prevalence and incidence of the use of anti-psychotics (APs) in children and adolescents, from 5 European countries. There appeared to be a steady rise in AP use in the study cohort of some European countries over the calendar years. The use, however, remained unchanged in others. The high use of AP in children of less than 9 years of age highlighted their off-label use. It ought to be cautiously monitored as the risk/benefit ra-tio of these medications were unclear in the youngest. Lower AP use was discovered in Europe than in North America.
