Cleary KL, et al. - Researchers investigated the temporal trends in use of antihypertensive medications during delivery hospitalizations complicated by preeclampsia and risk of maternal stroke over the same time period. Over the study period, use of multiple antihypertensive agents to treat preeclamptic women increased for women with mild, superimposed, and severe preeclampsia. Use of antihypertensive agent varied substantially among hospitals. A decreased risk of maternal stroke was observed in association with this trend.
