Use of a motion‐based digital therapeutic in women with fecal incontinence: A pilot study

Neurourology and Urodynamics Dec 16, 2021

Weinstein MM, Pulliam SJ, Keyser L, et al. - Researchers herein examined the effectiveness of using a motion-based vaginal biofeedback (VBF) device and app for at-home treatment of women with fecal incontinence (FI). As per their hypothesis, VBF would aid in improving FI symptoms.

  • In this single-arm 10-week prospective pilot trial, the VBF device was used in women with FI.

  • A total of 29 women were enrolled; 27 of these had data available for analysis.

  • Significant improvement occurred in FI symptom-specific severity and quality of life in correlation with using a vaginal, motion-based device for biofeedback.
