Trends in Anaesthesia and Critical Care Jan 10, 2018
Kriege M, et al. - This study involved a comparison between the McGrath Series 5 (McG) and the semi-rigid intubation endoscope SensaScope (Sc) in terms of time to place the tracheal tube (TT) in elective surgery patients. The use of video laryngoscope McG afforded significantly shorter tracheal intubation, the possible reasons for these results included the presence of a large tissue mass at the level of the tongue base that interfered with the exposure of the glottis and the insertion of the TT using the Sc such that getting into the glottic aperture was aggravated.
