Urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio within the normal range and risk of hypertension in the general population: A meta-analysis
The Journal of Clinical Hypertension Jun 10, 2021
Ren F, Li M, Xu H, et al. - Via this meta-analysis, researchers examined the relationship between the increased level of urine albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) within the normal range and incident hypertension in the general population. By exploring PubMed and Embase databases, all relevant longitudinal observational studies were identified. They analyzed nine articles (10 studies) comprising 27,771 individuals. Findings showed an independent link between an elevated UACR within the normal range and a higher risk of hypertension in the general population. Baseline UACR can predict incident hypertension in the general population.
