Urinary symptoms and their associations with urinary tract infections in urogynecologic patients
Obstetrics and Gynecology Sep 29, 2017
Dune TJ, et al. - The objective of this study is to evaluate urinary symptoms related to urinary tract infection (UTI) in a urogynecologic population of women. These outcomes exhibit that the presence of frequency and urgency of urination does not affirm a culture-based UTI diagnosis in women looking for urogynecologic care. Instead, clinicians can more readily detect UTI utilizing the presence of dysuria, which more effectively discriminates UTI-positive and UTI-negative individuals, regardless of the culture-based method used to diagnose UTI.
