Urinary CD80 excretion is a predictor of good outcome in children with primary nephrotic syndrome
Pediatric Nephrology Jun 08, 2018
Ling C, et al. - In this follow-up study, researchers determined if urinary cluster of differentiation 80 (uCD80) elevation is actually related to minimal change disease (MCD) and if it signals better prognosis. They examined patients with nephrotic syndrome (NS) and grouped patients based on uCD80 level and the progression rate as calculated by Kaplan–Meier survival analysis and Cox’s regression analysis. They found that progression and remission in children with NS were predicted by urinary CD80. The detection of high-risk patients at an early stage was facilitated by using uCD80 as a prognostic marker and may result in better treatment selection.
