Uric acid and incident dementia over 12 years of follow-up: A population-based cohort study
Annals of Rheumatic Diseases Feb 15, 2018
Latourte A, et al. - This study was conducted in order to assess the effect of serum uric acid (SUA) level on the incidence of dementia in a large cohort of healthy older people. It was noted that the relation between SUA level and vascular or mixed dementia could be affected by interim strokes. Data indicated that the risk of dementia, especially vascular or mixed dementia, could be increased with high SUA levels in elderly people.
