Upper airway stimulation therapy and prior airway surgery for obstructive sleep apnea

Mahmoud AF, et al. - The purpose of this study was to inspect if patients with prior airway surgery for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) exhibited increased benefit following implantation with the hypoglossal nerve stimulator. Substantial improvement was noted among the patients following implantation with the hypoglossal nerve stimulator. No statistically notable effect was found on postoperative apnea-hypopnea index or nadir oxyhemoglobin saturation, due to prior airway surgery.
