Conroy S, et al. – Researchers in this study aspired to assess the yield of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) from faecal calprotectin (FC) testing in primary care. For diagnosing IBD, FC testing in primary care had low sensitivity and specificity with poor positive predictive value (PPV). Moreover, they advised directing its use to those with a higher pretest probability of disease.
