Jorge AM, et al. - Mortality trends in SLE were analyzed, herein, to investigate if the mortality gap has improved in recent years. Findings highlighted no improvement in excess mortality in recent years. Data showed that mortality continued to be greater than double that of comparators, unlike RA during the same period. These data call for development of new therapeutic agents and improved management strategies for SLE and its comorbidities.
