Ultrasound evaluation in follow-up of urate-lowering therapy in gout: The USEFUL study

Ebstein E, et al. - Authors assessed the ability of ultrasonography (US) to show disappearance of urate deposits in gouty patients requiring urate-lowering therapy (ULT). This 6-month multicenter prospective study included 79 gouty patients. Findings revealed that, following ULT, US can show decreased urate deposition, which was found to be associated with decreased serum urate levels.
