Francia P, et al. - This study was formulated in order to verify the presence of ankle joint mobility (AJM) deficits in both plantar and dorsiflexion in young type 1 diabetic patients (T1D) taking into account the possible role of sport practised as an additional factor, able to modify AJM. Yielded data affirmed the negative effect of diabetes on AJM of young T1D patients. This, in turn, indicated that during such evaluations the sport-related effect ought to be regarded since it could induce prominent changes of AJM.
