It was concluded that the severe cortical bone loss was seen at the hip best recognized by quantitative computed tomography (QCT). Patients with shorter dialysis vintage and less pre-existing bone loss lost more bone, while treatment with CNS-acting antihypertensives was protective. For the bone loss, BSAP and sclerostin were the useful markers.
