Twenty-four-month efficacy of viscodilation of Schlemm’s canal and the distal outflow system with iTrack ab-interno canaloplasty for the treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma
Clinical Ophthalmology Apr 21, 2021
Gallardo MJ, et al. - In this retrospective, comparative, and consecutive case series, the author sought to assess the 24-month efficacy of viscodilation of Schlemm’s canal and the distal outflow system with iTrack ab-interno canaloplasty in decreasing intraocular pressure (IOP) and antiglaucoma medication use in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma. The sample consisted of 53 patients (60 eyes) with a mean age of 73.6 ± 9 years. Data from a 24-month follow-up show that iTrack ab-interno canaloplasty can effectively reduce IOP and medication dependence while maintaining a good safety profile. Such findings also show that iTrack can be performed effectively as a standalone procedure or in conjunction with cataract surgery, and in all grades of glaucoma severity.
