Tumour necrosis factor inhibitors slow radiographic progression in patients with ankylosing spondylitis: 18-year real-world evidence

Boo BS, Oh JS, Park SY, et al. - The present study was carried out to investigate whether long-term treatment with tumour necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFis) can decrease radiographic progression in patients with ankylosing spondylitis using 18-year longitudinal real-world data. Researchers performed a retrospective study between January 2001 and December 2018 at a single centre. They enrolled data of 595 patients exposed to TNFis at least once, among the 1,280 patients whose electronic medical records were reviewed, This study's findings demonstrate that treatment with TNFis slowed radiologic progression significantly in comparison with treatment without TNFis,
