Tumor volume as a predictive parameter in the sequential therapy (induction chemotherapy) of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas
European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Feb 09, 2019
Bohlen M, et al. - Data of patients with locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (LAHNSCC) treated by induction chemotherapy (ICT) involving docetaxel, cisplatin, and 5-fluorouracil (TPF) followed by definite radiochemotherapy (RCT) were retrospectively examined to assess tumor volume as a predictive factor in sequential therapy (induction chemotherapy) of LAHNSCC. Researchers did not find any correlation of primary tumor volume with complete remission rate (CR) after ICT and RCT, overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS). Although, an impact of alteration in tumor volume post-RCT was observed on OS and DFS.
