Wehkamp U, et al. – The goal of this paper was to investigate the Tropomyosin receptor kinase A (TrkA) expression in Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) as a rationale for potential targeted therapy. It was deduced that Tropomyosin receptor kinase A was expressed on MCC tumor cells in 100% of obtained specimens. This possibly aided in analysing new targeted treatment options in MCC, particularly for patients not responding to anti–programmed cell death protein 1 treatment.
