Plata M, et al. – This report focused on the practice patterns and perspectives regarding pelvic organ prolapse (POP) management among urologists, gynecologists, and urogynecologists in Latin America (LATAM). The authors claimed that this was the first report on POP practice patterns in LATAM. Accumulated evidence suggested that preferences regarding surgical management of POP were not very different from international trends. Findings also revealed that despite intense scrutiny and media exposure, mesh-based procedures were still largely used in LATAM.
