Trends in mammography use among women aged 40 to 49 years with a history of breast cancer
JAMA Dec 24, 2018
Bensenhaver JM, et al. - Authors analyzed in this study to estimate the courses in mammography use among women aged 40 to 49 years with a history of breast cancer. They observed beneficial consequences of an annual screening mammogram and hence consolidated into breast cancer (BC) survivorship treatments except for the cases who had undergone a bilateral mastectomy.
- They observed that mammography screening declined the rate of mortality from breast cancer (BC) through early detection.
- The optimal age for initiation of screening among US females at average risk for BC was considered controversial.
- They found personal BC history as a well-documented risk factor for developing a new breast tumor, with rates ranging from 0.25% to 1% per year.
