Treatment with intravenous immunoglobulins in systemic lupus erythematosus: A single-center experience with 63 patients

Nieto-Aristizábal I, Martínez T, Urbano MA, et al. - In this single-center retrospective study of SLE individuals treated with at least one intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) cycle for SLE complications, researchers determined the effects of IVIG therapy in SLE. Sixty-three SLE individuals treated with IVIG were involved, who received 2 g/kg IVIG for two to five days. In certain severe SLE manifestations, particularly hematological involvement, IVIG exhibited sufficient tolerance and efficiency. Moreover, it was beneficial for concomitant infection.
