Treatment results and prognostic factors of brain metastases from ovarian cancer: A single institutional experience of 56 patients
International Journal of Gynecological Cancer Oct 01, 2018
Kwon JW, et al. - Researchers assessed the clinical results of treatment and prognostic factors of patients with brain metastases from ovarian cancer. From a total of 2,008 patients with ovarian cancer, the investigators obtained electronic medical records of 56 consecutive patients (2.8%) with brain metastases. Observations suggested a significant prolongation of overall survival via surgical resection for single or symptomatic brain metastases. The researchers noted that multimodality treatment, including systemic cancer control, seemed to be an important factor in OS prolongation.
