Treatment patterns and trends in patients dying of prostate cancer in Quebec: A population-based study
Current Oncology Sep 04, 2017
Dragomir A, et al. – This population–based study sought to inspect contemporary metastatic castration–resistant prostate cancer (MCRPc) management patterns and therapy utilization trends in Quebec. Results suggested patient age as a strong determinant in the selection of MCRPC therapy. It affected the probability of the use of chemotherapy, bone–targeted therapy, or palliative radiation therapy (RT). As per observations, the introduction of new therapiesÂsuch as bone–targeted therapy, docetaxel, and abirateroneÂaffected treatment selection over time. However, chemotherapy was still used only in a small percentage of patients.
