Depression and Anxiety Jan 27, 2018
Caldieraro MA, et al. - Outcomes of bipolar depressed individuals with and without psychosis were compared. In addition, the relative effect of lithium and quetiapine, each with adjunctive personalized treatments (APTs), in the psychotic subgroup was assessed. Researchers observed that with psychotic features, bipolar depressive episodes were more severe, and compared to nonpsychotic depressions, presented a similar course of improvement. No statistically significant difference was identified between lithium- and quetiapine-based treatment of psychotic bipolar depressive episodes.
