Glatstein M, et al. - Researchers here delineated black widow spider exposures and treatment in the pediatric age group. In addition, they explored reasons for not using antivenom in severe cases. Most symptomatic black widow envenomations were minor in this study. Antivenom was administered to relatively few patients, however, its administration was associated with shorter symptom duration among moderate and major outcome groups.
