Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research Jan 29, 2020
Lu Y, Wang Y, Song Z, et al. - Experts intended to correlate the efficacy and complications between reconstruction nail and hollow screw+plate in individuals with femoral shaft and femoral neck fracture. They regained full text of studies on clinical efficacy including reconstruction nail and hollow screw+plate from multiple databases. They performed a meta-analysis with respect to the operation time, blood loss, the healing time of the femoral shaft, the healing time of the femoral neck, and complications. They selected 10 studies recruiting a sum of 991 individuals. The results indicated better characteristics for the reconstruction nail in comparison with the hollow screw+plate regarding operation time, blood loss, the healing time of the femoral shaft, the healing time of the femoral neck, and complications. In individuals with femoral shaft and femoral neck fracture, compared with a hollow screw+plate, reconstruction nail is a more efficient and safer treatment.
